Abstract

The Indonesian beauty industry is growing rapidly, creating intense business competition. However, high levels of legal awareness regarding brand protection have not kept pace with this development. Lack of knowledge about Indonesian Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) registration procedures, which adhere to the "first to file" principle, makes Derbi Beauty Glow vulnerable to legal issues such as trademark disputes and plagiarism. This community service activity aims to provide technical support and legal education on the importance of IPR protection for long-term business sustainability. This community service program utilizes empirical legal methods with a sociological legal approach. The methods implemented in this community service program include interactive counseling or legal lectures, focus group discussions (FGDs), and IPR registration simulations through the official government website, participated by the owners and management of Derbi Beauty Glow.

The results of this activity indicate that before the outreach program, business owners had little understanding of trademark registration procedures and trade secret protection. After the outreach program, there was a significant increase in understanding regarding legal aspects. Business owners now recognize that IPR registration is more than just an administrative requirement; This is an investment in protecting economic assets. This activity has succeeded in encouraging business actors to carry out the process of intellectual property inventory for official registration with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property
