In running its business, PT. Pegadaian Syariah Palembang has employed employees who are reliable and have good competence. Where employees are the most important part of the company, while work performance assessment is one of the key factors in developing the company. The focus of this research refers to the extent to which an employee, supervisor and leader have carried out their work duties in accordance with what is expected by PT Pegadaian Syariah Palembang. Where the Islamic work environment is considered to be very synergistic with the daily activities of employees who have Muslim status. Meanwhile, competency variables are also considered as variables that influence increasing employee work performance. This research was carried out quantitatively on 35 employees who were used as informants at PT Pegadaian Syaraih Palembang. This research also focused on employee behavior based on groups of respondents (informants) who were tested on the basis of gender, age and length of service. The research results show that there is an influence between competence on employee work performance at PT Pengadaian Syariah Palembang with a significance value of 0.004 < 0.05 t calculated at 3.123 > 1.69389, meaning that there is a positive and significant influence between competence on work performance. Meanwhile, the Islamic work environment does not have a big influence. The results of this research finally prove and conclude that for a Muslim it does not matter whether he is or works anywhere, but his obligations as a Muslim will be carried out without the need for orders or facilities, because in fact they have been born as Muslims who must carry out their obligations in worshiping Allah. SWT. But competence is an absolute motivation for a person's survival in maintaining his life in a company that gives him a salary (income).
